this product is not original. it does'nt work with my DLP. i got an original lamp from toshiba for 218 dollars but works without any problem. Beware of this product. i'm still waiting for my refund, i sent it back ASAP.

After research, I found that the after market bulbs sold by anyone other than Toshiba were trash. They didn't last long, and some people had problems as bad as the bulb busting after a day or two. Toshiba bulbs are the way to go, even for the extra money. Remember, in most cases, you get what you pay for. This is a brand new Toshiba bulb. Works great.

amazon should read closer ads put out to sell products, they said it was an original, thats why I bought it,, its a fake product missrepresenting toshiba,,, Thumbs down for this fake product..

Beware... Not What It Appears To Be Feb 22, 2012

I purchased this bulb in mid June 2011. It is now mid February 2012, and my so called Toshiba Factory Original Bulb has blown after only 8 months of use... I definately now believe that this lamp was not manufactured by Toshiba. When I recieved it, it was packaged in a Toshiba box, so it looked very official, however upon inspection of the actual bulb and housing, there is not one marking, model number, serial number, or any kind of brand name on it whatsoever. My original bulb probably lasted me somwhere close to 4 years with not a single problem, and that was with very very heavy use, as i am a diehard gamer. This so called Toshiba bulb never got put through the paces as my original and it only lasted a fraction of the time of a true Toshiba bulb. I would not recommend this product to anyone given my experience, as well as some of the things it seems other people who have also purchased this product have had to deal with. The company thats sells these needs to re-label these bulbs for what they really are... second generation pieces of junk. I should have just invested the extra money in a true factory replacement from Toshiba, it would've saved me money in the long run, and i wouldn't be staring at a black TV screen right now...

I gave this lamp 5 stars as it IS an original Toshiba lamp, contrary to the other review. Came with Toshiba paperwork and in original Toshiba sealed box.
