1Horrible Service! Buyer Beware!  Nov 04, 2009 By Ryan Cavanaugh
I ordered this necklace on September 15th, in plenty of time to use it as a prop for a Mad Men Halloween costume. When I recieved it, the pen part of the necklace was damaged and unusable. I contacted the company and they sent me a return envelope so I could send it back for repairs. Being that it was the first week of October I told them that I did not want to send it in if they could not guarantee that I would have it back by Halloween, and they assured me I would have it. On October 21 they left a message on my husbands cellphone stating that they could not figure out what was wrong with the item. I called them back 2 days later. First they told me that they couldnt find my order, then they told me that they sent it back to me on 10/20 (obviously that was not true as they called on 10/21), then they told me that when I sent the pen in it went directly to the repair department and it came back up to them from there, and that's why they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. The girl then assured me that they had mailed it back on either the 23rd or the 24th, so I should definitely have it by Halloween. Well, it's November 4 and I still don't have it (It's not coming- these people are so disorganized they don't know what they are doing). Now I'm out $20 + shipping and I had to buy a similar product to replace the one I didn't have for Halloween. This company stole my money and lied to me several times. I will never order from them again.

5compliments galore!  Jul 11, 2010 By Lex
I love this pen and so does everyone who sees me wearing it it comes with blue ink, so i went to staples and got some black in inkstead. it's a bit hard to find a filler that fits without opening any boxes (i had a lovely employee help me) but otherwise, it's just perfect. i imagine most people won't be as particular with their ink as i was.

5Looks just like Joan's  Jan 17, 2010 By Dale N. Knowles
Ordered this necklace for a fan of AMC's Mad Men series - she was very happy with it, and wore it when she gave a business presentation. Doesn't look cheap; good quality. And the pen actually works!

5Nice Functional Necklace  Dec 26, 2010 By Lalita Tawjareon
I bought this pen necklace and gave it as part of Christmas gifts to co-workers, family members, and friends. One of my co-workers loved it so much that she immediately wore it at work after she opened my gift bag to her. I love the AMC show, "Mad Men", as many individuals do, and I'm very proud of Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper, and who is a Mizzou alumni like me. Go Mizzou! And I'm very proud of Christina Hendricks who plays Joan Holloway. She's a great actress on the show, and Christina is absolutely a breath of fresh air and a great role model for all the curvy and more realistic-sized women existing on this planet. I love that the pen necklace is one of her signature looks/trademarks on the show, and that many people have loved dressing up as Joan Holloway on Halloween, and that there is a Barbie doll in her character's likeness with the pen necklace. This 1928 Jewelry Co. necklace is very well-made, not cheap looking at all! 1928 Jewelry Company is a pretty good jewelry company, and over the years, dating back to high school, I have owned many 1928 Jewelry Co. pieces. Out of all the 1928 Jewelry Co. pieces that I own, this pen necklace ranks No. 1 on my list as my favorite 1928 Jewelry Co. piece. I have always loved writing since I was a kid, and I live by the motto: "The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword". This necklace symbolizes that motto! The gold pen has a beautiful, sleek, vintage look to it, and the pen writes smoothly in blue ink. I hate wearing heavy jewelry, especially heavy necklaces, so it's a plus that this pen necklace is light to wear. Whether it's at the workplace, department store, grocery store, etc., one of the most asked questions is: "Do you have a pen?". This necklace solves the problem. No more searching for a pen for yourself or for strangers who ask you this question. And you look great at the same time. I absolutely think this necklace makes a great gift because I know for sure that all the women I gave this necklace to are going to use and wear the necklace! Thanks, "Mad Men" and Joan Holloway aka Christina Hendricks for reminding us women about the pen necklace. It's a beautiful and functional statement piece!

2Gave me a rash  Sep 04, 2010 By Katie
I absolutely love my pen necklace. It's so convenient in the office.
However, it's not without its faults: the black finger-grip part is wearing off. The gold is showing through. It only took about a week of use for the color to come off.
Second, it gave me a really bad rash on my neck, in an exact arch where the chain lies. I'm not allergic to any metals I know of, and it started when I got this. It might be crappy cheap metal or the abrasion on the chain on my neck skin, but either way, the pen caused it. I'm going to be replacing the chain with something better so it'll go away.
The pen is hella cute and I get nothing but compliments on it.
